Heart Testing
Sue Roberts is on the Veterinary Cardiovascular Society (VCS) lists of recommended veterinary cardiologists for auscultation and echocardiography of dogs and cats.
The heart testing schemes are approved by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. They apply to certain breeds which have an incidence of congenital (born with) and possibly inherited (genetically transmitted) heart disease.
The scheme aims to identify dogs and cats free from any cardiac abnormality at the invitation of the specific breed club and to offer advice to the owner, breeder and owner's veterinary surgeon if an abnormality is found.
Individual dogs can be tested in your own surgery, at the practice base in Brighouse or at a mutually convenient surgery. Groups of dogs can be tested at club meetings or shows.
